No Sale

After putting in an offer for that condo last week we found out the complex does not allow birds. We knew the complex did not allow animals but we never thought our bird would be a problem. We were surprised to discover that their Home Owners Association handbook actually states "no birds." So we had to withdraw our offer.

We were really disappointed because we liked this condo a lot. It was in a good location in Holladay and it had a lot of the things we are looking for. But, we could never give up our bird and any place that won't let us live with him is not the place for us.

So, back to the drawing board. In a very strange turn of events we may have found another place! This just happened yesterday so it's still pretty new but I wouldn't be surprised if we go for it with this other condo. I will fill you in on all the details once things move along a little more.

I hope you all had a great Presidents Day Weekend!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

I hope you all have a fantastic and romantic Valentines Day!! We will be spending our Valentines Day at home since we are on-call at the mortuary but I wish all of you a fun and exciting day.

For my Valentines gift Jesse gave me a gift certificate for a maternity massage! I am very excited and maybe a little nervous. This will be the first professional massage I've ever received!! I'm very happy for the thoughtful gift!

This Valentines Day is also special because we've put an offer on a condo! We submitted the offer this morning and now we just wait to see if it was accepted. All this home-buying stuff is so scary but we are excited. I will keep you posted.

Baby's First Photos

Here are some of our ultrasound photos. It's very strange to think this little guy is living inside of me but I loved watching him move around in there.

His arm is on the left side and his leg is on the right side of this picture.

And here's the indisputable evidence that our little guy is a boy. This photo is of his two legs and the little thing in between them. :)

I have to admit I'm a little nervous about having a boy but I'm so glad I have a husband to help me out. We've thought of a few names but nothing concrete. We will probably wait to name him until he pops out!

Oh, and here's the belly shot you have all been waiting for. This is me 5 months pregnant!

The Big Day

Well, tomorrow is the big day!! It looks like most of you think Baby Zy is a little girl. I'm so excited to find out but I'm also excited to experience the ultrasound. I can't wait to see this little baby that is living inside of me and I'm just hoping everything is normal and healthy.

I'm sure all you moms out there know this feeling but I can't believe I'm only halfway through the pregnancy! I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I've only hit the halfway point. I still have a long ways to go but I'm really enjoying this stage of pregnancy. I feel pretty good and even though its hard getting bigger I'm glad you can actually tell I'm pregnant now. I hated the "pudgy" stage when people don't really know if your pregnant or not and you just feel like you are getting fat!

I promise I will take my camera with me tomorrow so I should be posting a belly shot pretty soon!!

P.S. I want to say good luck to my friend Cami!! She is auditioning for "So You Think You Can Dance" today and I hope she has a blast!!!

President Hinckley

I don't ever really watch Glenn Beck but I've heard about him. He is a news broadcaster who converted to the LDS church a while ago. He expressed his feelings about President Hinckley's passing and I found it very moving so I wanted to post it. He expresses a lot of the same feelings I have about President Hinckley, and I'm sure the way you feel too.

President Hinckley will be deeply missed but I am so glad he is home with his wonderful wife. He will always be remembered as one of the best men on earth.

Were We This Bad?

I've been thinking a lot about my sister lately and the way she always chooses her friends over her family. She is a freshman in college at the U of U and I can't help but wonder if I was like that when I was her age. I definitely remember wanting to go out with friends all of the time, and there were times I thought I knew better than my parents (which I didn't), but I also remember feeling okay to stay home on a Friday night every once in a while.

I think independence is important at that age and moving to California for a summer was probably the best decision I ever made. I probably had a little too much independence in California (ha, ha) but I'm glad I was able to make mistakes and learn from them; especially when it came to dating and boys.

I'm a little worried because my sister is totally impressed with all of the athletes at the 'U' and she thinks they are so cute! I see the appeal because a lot of them are very good looking but I also know that a lot of them have BIG ego's and they are not good guys. She is naive to think that kind of boy is going to treat her well.

Ah, the joys of being in college. I loved my college years but I would never want to go back!!

House Hunt

Our house hunt has officially begun! On Saturday we looked at about six homes and sadly none of them will fit our needs but it was a very informative experience. I can't believe some of the homes people live in!! One home's basement was only about six feet tall; Jesse's head was skimming the top. And most of the kitchens in the homes were so teeny tiny!! You wouldn't even be able to fit a table in there!

I didn't expect us to find something on the first try so we will just keep looking until we find something that will be perfect for us. We are looking in the Highland Park area and the Holladay area. Since both of us work at the U of U we don't want to move too far away from there. Wish us luck!!

On another note I've started to feel Baby Zy moving around in my belly! It's a very strange feeling but I'm enjoying it. I promise I will post a belly shot soon; I just need to pick up a camera and do it!

MLK Day

Our Martin Luther King holiday was filled with lots of random activities. First, Jesse and I braved the snow storm to meet with our mortgage broker. Yes, that's right; we are really grown-up and we are going to have a mortgage. After sitting through an hour meeting talking about money and mortgage payments and interest rates I was quite overwhelmed. Sometimes I think that even with both me and Jesse working we still won't be able to afford anything. But then I calm down and I know that we will find a house that works for us. Our next step is to meet with a realtor and start looking for homes. We are looking for a small home that is relatively close to the University of Utah, since we both work there. I think the Holladay area would be as far south as we would like to go. If you know of any houses for sale let me know!

After the mortgage meeting we went to lunch with my family and then we went bowling! It's been a while since I have been bowling and I definitely noticed the extra pregancy weight! I was pretty tired after one game but it was still fun.

That night we went to my aunt and uncles house for a going-away party for my cousin. He is going into the Air Force Reserve or the National Guard or something like that; I can't remember. He will be in basic training in Texas for six weeks and then he will be living in Monterey, California for the next year and a half. It sounds like a big adventure and we are excited for him! Good luck Ryan!!

I realize I haven't posted any pictures in a while; I've been slacking on taking our camera anywhere. And I'm sure you are just waiting for the belly photos. I have really popped out this week and now I look like a pregnant lady! Oh, and my ultrasound is two weeks from today so pretty soon we will know if Baby Zy is a boy or a girl. *Zy is the baby's nickname; it's short for zygote and we have been using the nickname since I found out I was pregnant :)

Wii Fun

Last night we borrowed the Wii from Jesse's brother and we took it to my family's house. It was so much fun!! We played Guitar Hero and all of the sports games. It was so fun to see my parents actually playing video games and enjoying it. Marcus was hilarious to watch during boxing and my dad actually enjoyed Guitar Hero a lot.

I'm sad I didn't have my camera with me because we had so much fun. If you've never played Wii I highly recommend it!!!
