The MUSS

It's that time of year again; MUSS registration starts on Friday at 9 p.m.!! This is a reminder to all of you U of U students to join the MUSS!!! Register online at www.alumni.utah.edu/muss

Sadly Jesse and I have graduated from the MUSS and will become "regular" fans this year. We figured it wouldn't be a good idea to take our little baby boy into the MUSS. It's going to be strange to be in a different atmosphere at football games but we are looking forward to it. The past three years in the MUSS have been so much fun and we will miss the front row but we are ready to move on!!

Yurt

Last night Jesse and I were able to go on a "Yurt Experience" at The Canyons with all of my co-workers.. A Yurt is a domed structure that was used by tribes in Mongolia. We rode in a sleigh up the mountain to the Yurt and then once we were inside we were treated to a six-course meal!! It was probably the fanciest meal I will ever eat and it was actually really good. I was worried the food was going to be strange but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Here we are standing outside of the Yurt.

If you're ever looking for an exciting and different date night I would recommend this. It's on the expensive side but it was a really fun experience. For more info go to www.thevikingyurt.com

Baby Clothes

A couple weeks ago Jesse and I went to Old Navy and they were having a huge sale on baby clothes! We couldn't resist and we bought a few things for the little guy, including this really cute hoodie! I feel like I could go out and buy so many things right now but I'm going to need to resist.

I have to admit when we found out we were having a boy I was a little disappointed I wouldn't be able to buy all the cute little girl clothes that are out there. As so many of you know the selection for boy clothes is miniscule compared to the selection for girls clothes. But let's be honest, all he's going to need is some University of Utah gear and he will be good to go!!

We're Buying a Condo!!

At the end of March we will officially be condo owners! How scary is that!!!! We went under contract yesterday to purchase this condo and now we are in escrow for 30 days.

Some of you may recognize this condo complex. It is called Foothill Gardens and is located right next to Anderson Library, just below Foothill Blvd. We are definitely purchasing this property for the location. We will both be so close to work and we are just up the street from our families. It's strange to think we will be living in the neighborhood I grew up in but we are very excited.

The condo is 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. The complex has a pool and clubhouse that I'm sure we will use in the summer. The condo is a little smaller than any other ones we looked at but it's going to force me to be organized. We are just so happy that we will be living in such a fantastic location and we can't believe we will have freedom again! We have lived in the mortuary for two years and I've forgotten what it feels like to be able to leave your apartment whenever you want.

Lexi, be sure to thank your mom for giving us the heads up about this place. They actually received another offer right after ours so if your mom hadn't told us about it we wouldn't be buying it. A special thanks to Susan Pinegar!!!

A lot of people thought we were crazy for not buying that other place because of our bird, but we are happy we didn't. This place will be so much better for us and it will be so fun to live in that neighborhood. It seems like everything has worked out for the best!

No Sale

After putting in an offer for that condo last week we found out the complex does not allow birds. We knew the complex did not allow animals but we never thought our bird would be a problem. We were surprised to discover that their Home Owners Association handbook actually states "no birds." So we had to withdraw our offer.

We were really disappointed because we liked this condo a lot. It was in a good location in Holladay and it had a lot of the things we are looking for. But, we could never give up our bird and any place that won't let us live with him is not the place for us.

So, back to the drawing board. In a very strange turn of events we may have found another place! This just happened yesterday so it's still pretty new but I wouldn't be surprised if we go for it with this other condo. I will fill you in on all the details once things move along a little more.

I hope you all had a great Presidents Day Weekend!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

I hope you all have a fantastic and romantic Valentines Day!! We will be spending our Valentines Day at home since we are on-call at the mortuary but I wish all of you a fun and exciting day.

For my Valentines gift Jesse gave me a gift certificate for a maternity massage! I am very excited and maybe a little nervous. This will be the first professional massage I've ever received!! I'm very happy for the thoughtful gift!

This Valentines Day is also special because we've put an offer on a condo! We submitted the offer this morning and now we just wait to see if it was accepted. All this home-buying stuff is so scary but we are excited. I will keep you posted.

Baby's First Photos

Here are some of our ultrasound photos. It's very strange to think this little guy is living inside of me but I loved watching him move around in there.

His arm is on the left side and his leg is on the right side of this picture.

And here's the indisputable evidence that our little guy is a boy. This photo is of his two legs and the little thing in between them. :)

I have to admit I'm a little nervous about having a boy but I'm so glad I have a husband to help me out. We've thought of a few names but nothing concrete. We will probably wait to name him until he pops out!

Oh, and here's the belly shot you have all been waiting for. This is me 5 months pregnant!

The Results Are In!!

I will upload the ultrasound photos in the next couple of days where you will see there is no questioning his manhood!!
P.S. Everything looks good and healthy!

The Big Day

Well, tomorrow is the big day!! It looks like most of you think Baby Zy is a little girl. I'm so excited to find out but I'm also excited to experience the ultrasound. I can't wait to see this little baby that is living inside of me and I'm just hoping everything is normal and healthy.

I'm sure all you moms out there know this feeling but I can't believe I'm only halfway through the pregnancy! I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I've only hit the halfway point. I still have a long ways to go but I'm really enjoying this stage of pregnancy. I feel pretty good and even though its hard getting bigger I'm glad you can actually tell I'm pregnant now. I hated the "pudgy" stage when people don't really know if your pregnant or not and you just feel like you are getting fat!

I promise I will take my camera with me tomorrow so I should be posting a belly shot pretty soon!!

P.S. I want to say good luck to my friend Cami!! She is auditioning for "So You Think You Can Dance" today and I hope she has a blast!!!

President Hinckley

I don't ever really watch Glenn Beck but I've heard about him. He is a news broadcaster who converted to the LDS church a while ago. He expressed his feelings about President Hinckley's passing and I found it very moving so I wanted to post it. He expresses a lot of the same feelings I have about President Hinckley, and I'm sure the way you feel too.

President Hinckley will be deeply missed but I am so glad he is home with his wonderful wife. He will always be remembered as one of the best men on earth.
