It's great to be a UTE!

What an awesome time to be a Utah fan! Our basketball team is doing great and we have loved going to all the games this year. They are #1 in the conference right now; hopefully it will stay that way!

Florida here we come!

We found out yesterday Jesse won a trip to Florida for spring training! He entered on the Dan Patrick show about fifty times but you never think you will actually win. So, we are headed to Florida in a couple weeks to see the Boston Red Sox vs. the Yankees; pretty awesome!

I just can't believe we are going to take Gavin on another plane ride. This kid is very spoiled; this will be his fourth plane ride before he is one year old! I'm a little stressed because this will be the longest plane ride and it's hard enough to keep him entertained at church. Any suggestions?

Brynn or Gavin?

Those of you who have seen baby photos of me probably have a hard time deciding if this is me or my child. This is in fact Gavin.

It's amazing how gender neutral babies are and it all depends on how you dress them.

Holiday Weekend

Our Valentines Day was wonderful! Jesse was full of surprises. He took me to see "Romeo and Juliet" which was great and he bought me a beautiful ring! Sadly we had to take it back to be resized so I don't have any photos yet. I have a fantastic husband and it was a great day!

Thanks to Grandma Julie for watching the babe while we were gone. She even gave him his first Valentines Day gift!

Gavin is all over the place right now and he is a little dare-devil. He loves to be thrown in the air and held upside down.

The other morning he was playing with his toys and I look over to find him like this: high-centered on his toy box!

Well, I did it; I finally caved and joined Facebook. Technically I had to do it for work (I had to start The MUSS page) but now I find myself becoming just as addicted as everyone else!

Annoyed!

All I can say is Boo Hoo! We all feel so bad for you that you have your own personal trainer to help you lose your baby weight, and you have a nanny so you can work out five hours a day! I really hate that every time a celebrity has a baby it is a contest to see how fast they can lose all their baby weight. When a celebrity has a six pack two months after giving birth it makes us normal people feel like we need to acheive that also. They never talk about how celebrities don't have any other responsbilities such as work, school, grocery shopping, etc. so they have plenty of time to exercise all day long.

Another thing I don't understand is how celebrities don't get stretch marks. Is there a certain drug they are taking that is only available to movie stars? Or maybe it's all airbrushing; either way, I would like to know that secret.

Oh, and I wish contractions were only as bad as cramps! If that were the case I wouldn't have needed the doctor to shove a giant needle in my spine to stop the pain. Wow, I really don't like Jessica Alba right now.

The Big Change

So, this isn't as dramatic as some of you were probably thinking but it is a big change for me.

I've been a blonde all my life but I finally decided to try something new. I've never had the guts to do something this drastic but I am loving it! I'm still getting used to it every time I look in the mirror but I think the color is beautiful!

Random Thoughts

I was thinking the other day about how I know so many people who are pregnant right now; many of you read this blog. When I was pregnant there was a website that really helped me: http://www.babycenter.com/. You can sign up for weekly newsletters that will tell you how your baby is developing week-by-week. There are also a bunch of message boards where you can post questions and talk to other pregnant women. I always had random questions about what was happening to my body and it was so nice to talk to women who were going through the same thing.

I had to post these photos of my little guy; isn't he cute! I never get tired of looking at him and he brightens my day. He is so close to crawling which is going to complicate our lives. It's so funny to watch him scoot around right now.

There has been a big change in my life but I'm going to make you wait until tomorrow to find out what it is - no I'm not pregnant so don't even think it!

Feeding Adventures

Gavin does not enjoy eating food. This is so surprising because he puts everything else in his mouth but he doesn't seem to like the things that should actually be in his mouth.

This is what happens when we try to feed him with a spoon.

Now we have started spreading the food on his tray and letting him put his hands in it. Eventually some of it makes it into his mouth but it mostly goes on his face. If any of you moms have advice about solid food I am all ears!
