Last Week

Last week Gavin and I were lucky enough to go to Denver with my family for a few days. Jesse couldn't come because of work so unfortunately we had to leave him behind. I did not expect to enjoy Denver as much as I did; it's a really cool city.

We spent a lot of time in downtown Denver which was really cool. They have a mall that goes for miles and there is a lot of restaurants and shopping. I hope Salt Lake's downtown is like that someday.

Eating at Cheesecake Factory

The reason for this trip was the Colorado Rockies. Marcus is a huge fan and he had never been to an MLB game. We went to two Rockies games while we were there and it was so much fun!

Coors Field was beautiful and there were so many cool things about it! The seats were angled toward the pitching mound so you didn't have to turn your head the whole game. They had a great area for kids and their concessions were awesome. It was by far one of the best stadiums I have ever been to.

The coolest thing we got to do while we were there was go to batting practice and meet the Rockies players. The owner of the Rockies is a U of U alum so I was able to use some connections and get us on the field for practice. It was fantastic and Marcus was in heaven!

Here is Marcus with his favorite player, Todd Helton. All the players were so nice and it was so fun to see Marcus so excited. It was a great trip.

Last week was also great because it was one of my favorite holidays: the 24th of July! We have a tradition to hang out in front of the mortuary the night before the parade. It's always fun and it's a great place to peopl-watch. It was of course very hot so Gavin loved getting sprayed with the water bottle.

We love, love, love the parade and I was so happy Gavin enjoyed it too!

Beautiful, touching, heart-felt, sweet, sad, powerful and wonderful. Just a few words to describe this dance.

Bye Cami!

I feel bad I didn't get these pictures posted until today because by now Cami has already left us. :(

She is headed to Dallas, Texas for the next 18 months to serve an LDS mission. I know she is going to be an amazing missionary and I'm so excited for her to have this experience.

Football season won't be the same without her but there will be plenty of football seasons for us to celebrate in the future.

Some of the old Sigma girls. I have such wonderful memories with each of these gals. Good times!

We are going to miss you Cam!!!!! Love you!

SYTYCD

I feel like this season of 'So You Think You Can Dance' has many amazing dancers but there hasn't been a dance that has really grabbed me and made me want to watch it over and over again. That is until last night.
The Mia Michaels "addiction" dance was beautiful and very powerful. In my opinion it's the first "blog-worthy" dance of the season. :)

4th of July Weekend

Jesse and I had Friday off of work so we decided to head to the zoo. It was Gavin's first time and he really liked it.

He really liked the giraffe's; probably because they are so big.

The 4th was a busy day but also fun. We had a picnic with Jesse's family, went to the pool and then to the country club for fireworks! Sadly Gavin did not enjoy the fireworks but the rest of the night was a blast.

Gavin's First Haircut

Gavin was in serious need of a haircut so we finally caved and cut it. He was such a good boy sitting in the chair.

Now that we cut off all his baby hair we can see how blonde he is!

This is his new favorite position. He thinks it's hilarious and so do we!

Lehi Rodeo

On Friday night we went to the Lehi Rodeo. It was a blast and I think it needs to become a tradition every year.

YEE HAW!

The train was very loud and fast and took us a little off-guard.

Father's Day photos

For Jesse's father's day gift I decided to take some photos of Gavin in Jesse's clothes. Gavin was loving the camera and was hamming it up. I really like the way some of these turned out.

Gavin's Birthday Party

The birthday party was really fun and Gavin seemed to enjoy being the center of attention. Thanks to everyone who could come and a special thanks to Grandma Julie for all your hard work!

Thanks to Julie for making the cake. It was definitely appropriate!

I think it's safe to say the cake was his favorite part. It didn't take him long to figure out what to do. Here's the before....

The during.....

And the after.....

It was so funny to watch him devour his cake. Here's video for those who couldn't be there.
